How To Play Pikum

Playing Pikum is easy. Here's how it works.

Someone creates a Pikum. Pikums can be created by anyone - including celebrities. The person who creates the Pikum is called the host. You can find Pikums using the find Pikum feature, or by seeing the Pikums your friends are playing or hosting.

Finding Pikums

There are two easy ways to find a Pikum to Play in.

  1. You can browse or search for Pikums that are currently available for entry . Browse by category and use the various tools to refine the results.
  2. You can look at a friend’s profile to see Pikums they've created and are hosting, or Pikums that they've already entered. Also, you can be challenged to play a Pikum by people who are your friends. You can see Pikums you've been challenged to under the "My Challenges" section.

What Makes Up a Pikum?

  • Each Pikum includes Piks - the things that you're asked to predict. Piks can be things like "which team will score first in a football match", "how many tries will be scored in a rugby match", or "what will tiger woods shoot in the first round of the Masters". We're starting with sports, however in the future you'll be able to include piks about events like the Oscars, or elections.
  • Each Pikum also has a details section that includes the entry stake - this is what you use to enter. Pikums played for fun have an entry stake of Pikles (). When you join we give you 1,000, and you can always get more. Pikums played for money have an entry stake of Pounds Sterling (). You can play for money for as little as 2.
  • The details section also shows you how many people are currently playing, what the prize pool currently is, and how the prize pool is divided between winners. Pikums can be winner take all, or there can be mutliple winners - the important thing is that every Pikum has a winner.

How to Enter

  • To enter, you simply make your prediction for each pik in the Pikum. Once you've entered, you can then choose to challenge your friends to play the Pikum with you -it's always more fun when you earn bragging rights as well as winning!
  • Once you've entered a Pikum, you can change a pik at any time before the event the particular pik is associated with starts. For instance, if a Pikum asks how many goals England will score in their next two international matches, you can change your prediction for the second match pik even after the first match has started, so that you can use what you learn .
  • When all the events in a pikum have concluded, the pikum is scored, results are posted, and you are notified. Your score is determined based on how much each pik was worth in the game, how close your pik was to what happened, and by how much better your piks were than other participants - so if you get something close that no one else had any idea about, you get extra benefit! You receive a number of points for each pik, and the players with the most points overall are the winners. You can learn more about how winners of each Pikum are determined.
